East Melbourne

Bring people together through events that inspire, uplift, and unite. Join a values-led team where your coordination skills create meaningful experiences across the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Event Coordinator, to play a vital role in delivering some of the most significant engagements in the Archdiocesan calendar.

As a key member of the Development and Philanthropy Office, you will serve as the primary point of contact for the planning and execution of key events, including conferences, liturgical celebrations, community gatherings, and stakeholder functions.

About The Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne

Presided over by the Archbishop, the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne (CAM) is the largest Archdiocese in Australia. It comprises around 1.1 million Catholics with a wide variety of people, cultures and ministries, providing services and support including pastoral, educational, social welfare, financial and administration services.

In This Role, you will:

  • Engage with internal stakeholders during the early planning stages to clarify objectives, determine priorities, and gather requirements for upcoming events.
  • Coordinate event logistics from concept to delivery—including risk management, budgeting, sponsorships, and promotional strategies.
  • Manage event-related systems and tools, including online booking platforms, email marketing software, video conferencing, and internal databases.
  • Oversee the Archdiocesan events and functions calendar, ensuring accurate scheduling, diary management, and coordination with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers such as venues and caterers to ensure seamless event delivery and excellent service standards.
  • Act as a liaison between agencies to ensure all events—particularly those involving Bishops, VIPs, dignitaries, or government stakeholders—run smoothly and in line with Archdiocesan protocols and mission.

What you will bring to this role:

  • Proven experience planning, coordinating, and delivering multiple events in a dynamic setting.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with an ability to juggle competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Tech-savviness with experience in Microsoft Office, online bookings, and event management platforms.
  • A high level of professionalism and discretion, particularly when supporting events involving senior Church leaders or external dignitaries.

Why Work for CAM?

  • Be part of a values-driven, mission-aligned organisation making a meaningful impact across the community.
  • Enjoy a modern, open-plan office in leafy East Melbourne—just on the edge of the CBD—with access to a 5th-floor terrace offering stunning city views.
  • Join a dedicated and supportive team that values collaboration, purpose, and professional growth.
  • Access our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to support your health, wellbeing, and work–life balance.
