Social media community guidelines

Welcome to our Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne online social media communities.

These include, but are not confined to:

  • the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne Facebook account
  • the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne Instagram account
  • the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne LinkedIn account
  • the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne X account.

These accounts are managed by the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne.

We encourage those who participate in our online communities to remember the Road to Emmaus, Luke 24:13-35, and ask that people keep this passage of scripture in mind when engaging with content and commenting on posts. Every interaction with another person, be they friend or stranger, is an opportunity for encounter with Christ.

Hours

We are here between 9am and 5pm AEST, although we may post and respond to content outside these times.

While not every comment requires a response, we do aim to respond when appropriate, and to do so in a timely way within our hours of operation.

We may be unable to respond to some posts due to privacy, secrecy or other laws. In these circumstances, we ask that you direct message your contact details for response.

Community Guidelines

We encourage relevant, thoughtful and respectful discussion on our social media pages, particularly when responding to posts or comments that contain views that may differ from your own.
