All clergy, deacons and vowed religious from outside the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne who wish to provide ministry or religious services within the Archdiocese are required to complete an Application for Faculties – Short Term Ministry and receive permission to minister before providing any ministry or religious service in the Archdiocese.
All visiting clergy will be required to meet the Archdiocesan screening requirements:
Please submit your application at least one week prior to commencement of your visit.
Note: Under Victorian legislation, all ministers of religion performing religious duties in Victoria for a period exceeding 30 days in the same calendar year will be required to apply for a VIC WWCC and will be contacted by our Safeguarding Unit.

Visiting clergy from overseas must complete and submit their application at least 3 weeks prior to the commencement of their visit. If you are visiting for more than 14 days you will be required to provide an International Police Check.
Please note: An International Police Check can take up to 15 days to process. You will only be granted your faculties letter once we have received your International Police Check. We recommend applying as soon as possible. Each country requires differing documentation, which is outlined during the application process. You will need to provide the required documentation for the relevant countries you have lived in for at least 12 months.
