Worldwide Marriage Encounter (WWME) is a weekend away offering married couples a special kind of ‘time out’—a different kind of ‘weekend getaway’. Based on Catholic values, the ministry started in Spain in the 1950s and has since spread around the globe.

To mark the 50th anniversary of WWME in Australia, all couples who have ever attended a marriage encounter weekend (anywhere in the world!) are warmly invited to attend an evening of celebration over a shared spit roast dinner at St John’s, Mitcham, beginning at 6pm.

Cost: $25 per adult, $17 per child. BYO drinks and a wedding photo.

Also on Saturday 16 February, an anniversary Mass will be held at 8.30am, and a ‘Love and respect’ formation day from 9.15am to 5.15pm—details here.

About WWME weekends

WWME weekends continue to be run for couples and priests here in Victoria. The weekends are presented by 2–3 married couples and a priest (all volunteers). It’s a unique experience that leads and helps couples and priests to communicate deeply and intimately so that they grow connectedness in their relationships.
