Archbishop Peter A Comensoli

In his message for Easter for this year, Archbishop Peter A Comensoli reminds us that in his death and resurrection, the Lord offers us the gifts of peace, life and love. ‘All of us come under the love of Jesus Christ on the Cross,’ said Archbishop Comensoli. ‘And in the midst of our own struggles, Jesus comes to us, just as he came to Mary Magdalen on the day of the Resurrection to offer us hope and a pathway forward.’

Happy Easter, friends!

In our time of COVID and the struggles that we’ve been having over this last year, there is so much that we need in terms of what the Lord offers us in his death and resurrection. The gift of his peace; the gift of his life; the gift of his love. And in making that offering we share in those such that in the midst of our own struggles the Lord comes to us just as he came to Mary Magdalen on the day of the resurrection.

Behind me is an artwork by a Hong Kongese artist and it captures for me much of what it is that we celebrate at Easter. We have the Lord who has offered himself, sacrificed himself, so that we might have life in him. And in the image you might pick out a number of other faces – face of all sorts of people because all of us come under the love of Jesus Christ on the Cross.

So may that love and the peace that Jesus offers in his resurrection be with you and your families this year and may you all come to appreciate that you tooand all of uscome under the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus who gives his life to us.

Indeed, Happy Easter!
