Australian Catholic University (ACU) has ranked number one nationwide for employer satisfaction, according to the latest QILT Employer Satisfaction Survey (ESS).

In a milestone achievement, 90.7 per cent of employers reported positive overall satisfaction with ACU graduates—the best result for any university in the country and the first time ACU has scored over 90 per cent.

ACU Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) Prof Tania Broadley said the strong results reflected the university’s focus on mission and impact.

Employers are telling us that ACU graduates bring the skills, values and qualities that make a real difference in the workplace.

‘To be the only university in Australia to achieve over 90 per cent employer satisfaction—and for the first time in ACU’s history—reflects the strength of our mission and our commitment to preparing students for purposeful and impactful careers,’ Prof Broadley said.

‘What makes this result especially meaningful is that it highlights the success of our students. Employers are telling us that ACU graduates bring the skills, values and qualities that make a real difference in the workplace.

‘It is a testament to our students’ efforts, as well as the dedication of our staff, who guide and support them.’

ACU also ranked in the top five universities nationwide for student experience at university, according to the Student Experience Survey (SES) results.

Prof Broadley said the results reflected a team effort across ACU to enhance the student experience across the university’s seven Australian campuses and its Rome campus.

Students consistently highlight the exceptional quality of our teaching staff—the knowledge, wisdom and personal care our lecturers bring to every interaction.

‘We’re really proud of these results, because they show that at ACU, students aren’t just a number; they feel seen, valued and genuinely supported,’ Prof Broadley said.

‘When I speak with students, they talk about the sense of familiarity in their classes, how welcoming and approachable their tutors are, and how comfortable they feel asking questions and engaging in their learning.

‘They also consistently highlight the exceptional quality of our teaching staff—the knowledge, wisdom and personal care our lecturers bring to every interaction. That’s what makes the ACU experience distinctive, and why these results are so strong.’

ACU also ranked second in Australia for International undergraduate student satisfaction.

These results build on ACU’s strong performance in recent QILT Student Experience Surveys (SES), which were released this week by the Department of Education on its Quality Indicators for Learning and Teachingwebsite.
