For the past 30 years, the Archbishop’s Charitable Fund has provided an opportunity for the Catholic community of Melbourne to support and encourage practical charitable activities within our Archdiocese.

The Fund provides support towards program, operational, or capital costs of organisations whose work helps overcome disadvantage, inequality, and exclusion for people in the geographic boundaries of the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne.

In the last three years alone, $500,000 has been distributed to more than 30 Catholic organisations working in a variety of areas but all inspired by the Gospel to care for those around us and bring positive change to the world.

Recent recipients have included:

  • Catholic Care (for continuation of the Prison Ministry Program)
  • Caroline Chisholm Library (for Caroline Chisholm Library Inc.)
  • Opening the Doors Foundation (Education Support for Indigenous Children)
  • Caroline Chisholm Society, Pregnancy and Family Support Service (for Wrap-Around Support Program)
  • Sacred Heart Mission (Support the Art Therapy Program through Women’s House)

The 2021 grantmaking cycle has now commenced. Learn more about the Archbishop’s Charitable Fund to see if your organisation qualifies. Applications close on 15 October 2021.
