Holy Trinity Parish warmly invites passionate individuals to join our pastoral team as we embark on an exciting new chapter of ministry across our three vibrant faith communities: St Peter's (East Bentleigh), St Paul's (Bentleigh), and St Catherine's (Moorabbin).

As one parish with three worshipping communities and three schools, we are restructuring our pastoral care model to better serve our growing community's diverse needs. We're seeking dedicated individuals to fill three specialized coordinator roles focusing on Liturgy & Sacraments, Pastoral Care & Community Development, and Outreach & Faith Formation.

This restructure represents our commitment to excellence in ministry while creating more manageable, focused roles that respect work-life balance. You'll work collaboratively with fellow pastoral workers under the guidance of our Parish Priest, contributing to a unified approach across all our communities.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Liturgy, Sacraments, Safeguarding Coordinator is responsible for the performance of duties outlined below across the three communities of the Parish.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Liturgical Coordination

  • Prepares weekend Masses ensuring that Mass role-holders have completed their respective duties:
  • Assesses the work of various role holders at the end of each Mass in order to build up a view of role performance of each role holder and team as a whole.
  • Co-ordinate presentations - Mass responses, hymns, prayers of the faithful, community notices
  • Collaborate with Music Leaders,
  • Liaises with supply clergy and Mass Teams in advance to supports their roles.
  • Advertise parish needs, volunteering, readers, altar servers.
  • Arrange Children Liturgies

Sacramental Programs

  • Oversees the Parish Sacramental Program for children not attending Parish Schools;
  • Meets with individual Parish Schools’ RELs to arrange for Sacramental Program, School Masses and Children's Liturgy;
  • Coordinates RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) programs;
  • Plans, in consultation with the Parish Priest, an adult faith formation Program for the Parish;
  • Assists engaged couples preparing their Nuptial Liturgy.

Safeguarding

  • Take part in Safeguarding Committee mandated tasks;
  • Monitors ongoing implementation of and compliance with Safety Policies of both Parish and Archdiocese and reports to the Parish Priest;
  • Ensures that all Parish liturgical and pastoral activities comply with safety requirements

Communication with Parishioners

  • Prepare weekly report for the Parish Bulletin;
  • Communicate with Parishioners to promote Liturgy, Sacraments, Safeguarding matters.

  • Good organizational and administrative skills,

Education and Work Requirements

  • Relevant post-secondary qualifications or working towards them;
  • Willingness to become accredited as a Pastoral Worker;
  • Computer literacy with sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Co-operates with colleagues to achieve the implementation of all Parish Policies and procedures;
  • Participates in meetings of staff as required by the Parish Priest
  • Complies with policies and directives issued by the Parish including occupational Health and Safety and Code of Conduct.
  • Knowledge of Parish Online system (PACEM) Desirable but not essential.
  • Responds to own training/development needs;
  • Seeks feedback on own performance;

REQUIRED

  • Valid Working with Children Check
  • Current Police Check
  • Valid Driver Licence
