St Patrick's Cathedral presents internationally renowned Australian organ virtuoso Thomas Heywood in a grand organ recital to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the Diocese and the 125th anniversary of the Consecration of St Patrick's Cathedral.
The program is a homage to music from an earlier point in Melbourne's history, with the performance of several late nineteenth century works and that of the ‘Melbourne Exhibition March’ by George Torrance.
An organ rendition of Handel's famous ‘Hallelujah’ chorus is a symbolic nod to its performance at the Consecration in 1897. Selections by Guilmant, Chopin, Parry and Haydn.
Tickets: $25 at door or via trybooking.
