Proclaim 2023—Inaugural Archdiocesan Gathering

Over three days, the Catholic Leadership Centre will host a vibrant gathering, where sojourners will be inspired, engaged and equipped to go out and proclaim the joy of the Gospel in their local communities. Encounter Jesus through prayer, music and fellowship; hear from inspiring local and international speakers; participate in workshops to equip ourselves for mission and connect and celebrate our shared faith together.

Thursday 16 November—‘Encounter Christ’

Proclaim will begin in prayer as the young Church of Melbourne—whether young in age or young at heart—gather for Holy Hour. World-renowed Fr Rob Galea will lead music during this time of worship and adoration. Gather together for dinner, where Most Rev Peter A Comensoli, Archbishop of Melbourne, will give a keynote address.

This evening is free and open to all. Keynote address and dinner are ticketed as there are limited places.

Friday 17 November—‘Engage Leaders’

This day is especially tailored to parish clergy, lay leadership and those employed in the Catholic sector (e.g. staff and faith and mission leaders from Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools, social services, health care). Hear keynote speakers including Director of Ignite Youth Kym Keady, and MACS Director Catholic Mission and Identity Dr Nigel Zimmerman.

Participate in workshops exploring mission, vocation and discipleship as organisations, parishes and individuals. We will explore how our leadership can be a light and witness of the Gospel to others.

Saturday 18 November—‘Embark’

This day is for all Catholics, lay and clergy, especially those who are seeking more for themselves and their community. Hear inspiring speakers, including international leadership coach Ron Huntley. Be formed in workshops and discover ways for ourselves and our communities to be bearers of the light of Christ to each other.
