The Combined Societies of Mary invite you to join the Novena to Our Lady of Vailankanni, commencing on Friday, 30 August and finishing on Saturday, 7 September.

Vailankanni, located on the East coast of India, South of Madras, is one of the most popular shrines in the world. Millions visit it every year, with more that 1.5 million for the novena and feast day of Our Lady of Vailankanni.

The novena will be prayed each night at 7pm, before the Blessed Sacrament, at Holy Cross Church, South Caulfield. At the conclusion of the novena, there will be Mass and an opportunity to venerate the relics of the following saints:

  • St Bernadette—30 August
  • St Euphrasia—31 August
  • St Alphonsa—1 September
  • St Maria Goretti—2 September
  • St Francis Xavier—3 September
  • St Anthony of Padua—4 September
  • St Teresa of Calcutta—5 September
  • St Peregrine—6 September
  • St Philomena—7 September.

A Mass to commemorate the feast day of Our Lady of Vailankanni will be celebrated on Sunday, 8 September at Holy Cross Church, South Caulfield, starting at 1.30pm. There will also be an opportunity for adoration and benediction after Mass. All welcome!
