Mark grew up in Djilang/Geelong (Wadawurrung Country) where his family welcomed to their home peoples of cultures from all around world. At 19 years old, he left Australia to work voluntarily in the West Papuan refugee camps. He was ordained a Passionist priest at St Bernard’s Parish, Belmont, in 1992, and has lived and worked in remote First Nations communities.
