This session will explore the historic context of the Second Vatican Council (1962–1965) and its designation as a ‘pastoral’ council, the leadership of Pope Francis that continues to live the spirit and grace of Vatican II, his emphasis on a ‘synodal’ church, and the implications of this for the Australian Plenary.
