Book launch for A mission to Evangelise: The Heidelberg Mission and St John the Evangelist by Kevin Andrews

St John’s Catholic Parish is pleased to be hosting the official launch of A Mission to Evangelise: The Heidelberg Mission and St John the Evangelist by Kevin Andrews. The book will be launched by eminent historian Prof Geoffrey Blainey AC.

A Mission to Evangelise is the first in a series about Australian churches to be published by Connor Court. It tells the story of how the Heidelberg Mission—established in 1848—led to the establishment of Catholic parishes and schools in the eastern region of Melbourne over the following century.

Prof Blainey is author of 40 books including the acclaimed The Tyranny of Distance, The Rush that Never Ended, The Triumph of the Nomads and A Short History of the World. He was named an ‘Australian Treasure’ in 2017.
