Fr Frank O’Loughlin, retired Melbourne priest, author and theologian, has produced yet another book. His latest book ‘The Catholic Church: Into the Future’, published by Coventry Press, will be launched on Thursday, 29 August at 7.00 pm in the gathering space at Our Lady of Good Counsel, Deepdene.
Into the Future explores the necessity of change for the Catholic Church’s well-being and growth, especially in the context of our increasingly secular society. It reflects on how the church in its history has responded to similar changes and calls present-day Catholic disciples to remain faithful to the heart of the gospel message and to witness to that message in ways that are faithful and prayerful, seeking new ways of proclaiming the Kingdom of God in our own time.
Following the launch, Fr Frank will offer two more evenings to explore the book:
Thursday, 5 September: Change in the Church’s history
Thursday, 12 September: Changes today and into the future.
These evenings will take place at 7.00 pm at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Deepdene. No registration required.
