The ACU Community invites you ACU Mission Week, the theme of which is ‘Pilgrims of Hope’. Through music, art, architecture and nature, this series of events focus on beauty as a sign of hope.

  • 12–14 August: Signs of Hope: The Art of Terry Ffyffe
    An exhibition of local artist Terry Ffyffe’s works, curated around the theme of ‘hope’ with commentary by ACU Staff and Students. Also includes works from ACU Art students, in dialogue with Terry’s art.
  • 12 August: Built For Mission: An Architectural Tour Through The St Teresa Building
    Discover many hidden gems on this tour as John Kouris shares with us the meaning behind the design of the St Teresa Building. With these fascinating titbits of information, your experience of the building will deepen as will your appreciation for ACU's Mission. Wine and Cheese along the way. Accompanied by Mother Teresa’s Sisters (Missionaries of Charity).
  • 13 August: Cultivating Mission: Discovering The ACU Garden
    Join our Campus Dean, Krista Maglen, Student Life Officer, Alastair Moore, and Dietetics Academic, Sharon Croxford, as they bring to life the new ACU Garden and its impact upon the wellbeing and education of our community, finding fresh ways of animating our Mission! Taste, touch and smell! Immediately followed by live musical performances.
  • 13 August: Uplifted Soul: Sacred Music & The Power of Hope
    Live performances from a diverse range of staff, with stories on how music lifts the soul and leads to hope. Including performances led by Dr Kathleen McGuire, Br Isaac Webb, Sr Angela and the MGL Sisters.
  • 14 August: Indigenous Stories of Hope
    Hear stories of hope from some of our Indigenous staff & students, woven together by beautiful yidaki music.
  • 14 August: Priest, Musician and Scholar: Unlocking The Percy Jones Collection
    Hidden away on our Campus is this special collection originating from the personal library of Fr Percy Jones. As we unlock items from this collection for display, experience the music and story of this remarkable man and his contribution to the Australian music scene and the Church. The collection includes over 1,300 items dating from the mid-1800s to today. Talks and music from Dr Paul Taylor, Dr Dianne Gome, Br Isaac Webb.
