School Engagement Officer - Vocations

East Melbourne

The Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne (CAM) is seeking a passionate and dedicated School Engagement Officer to join our team. This pivotal role involves promoting vocations and fostering engagement within schools across the Archdiocese.

This permanent, part-time (1 day per week) position is based at our Cardinal Knox Centre in East Melbourne, however, requires travel to schools across Melbourne, connecting with diverse communities and inspiring students throughout the region.

This position will be responsible for delivering talks, organising information sessions, and actively engaging with students to inspire and encourage vocations.

Presided over by the Archbishop, the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne (CAM) is the largest Archdiocese in Australia. It comprises around 1.1 million Catholics with a wide variety of people, cultures and ministries, providing services and support including pastoral, educational, social welfare, financial and administration services.

Key Accountabilities:

  • School Visits: Conduct regular visits to all schools within the archdiocese to connect with students and staff.
  • Talks and Presentations: Deliver engaging talks and presentations on vocations, religious life, and discernment to students at various levels.
  • Information Sessions: Organise and run information sessions for students interested in exploring vocations and religious callings.
  • Networking: Build and maintain positive relationships with school principals, teachers, and pastoral teams to facilitate collaboration and support for vocations initiatives.
  • Promotion: Develop and implement strategies to promote vocations awareness and interest among students through creative and innovative methods.
  • Resource Development: Assist in creating resources, materials, and programs to support vocations promotion and education in schools.
  • Data Collection: Collect and analyse data related to school engagement activities, student interest, and feedback for continuous improvement


  • Relevant experience in education, youth engagement, or related fields
  • High level of integrity, honesty and confidentiality, with an awareness and appreciation of Catholic Social Teaching.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
  • National Police record check.
  • Working with Children check.
