Are you passionate about faith, community, and outreach? We’re looking for a Pastoral Associate (Outreach) to help grow and strengthen our Parish community. Working closely with the Parish Priest, school staff, and volunteers, you’ll lead initiatives that foster faith, connection, and engagement.

About us:

St Dominic’s is a welcoming community of Catholic Christians who have an outward focus on evangelization and social justice. The Parish celebrated its centenary in 2024 and has been in the care of the Dominican friars from the beginning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Outreach & Evangelization – Implement and maintain the Parish’s outreach strategy, collaborating with the Parish Priest and Pastoral Council.
  • Faith Formation – Organize RCIA and adult faith programs, retreats, and study days, and develop faith resources, including newsletters and digital content.
  • Youth & Schools – Develop and coordinate youth programs, RCIC, study days, and service opportunities, while strengthening relationships with school communities
  • Community Engagement – Be a visible presence at Sunday Mass, parish events, and ministry programs, organizing initiatives that bring people together.
  • Administration & Digital Presence – Maintain parish website and social media content, and keep local community guides updated.

About You:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar pastoral or administrative role
  • Passionate about the evangelizing mission of the Catholic Church
  • Strong administrative, time management, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and pastoral sensitivity
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with Wix experience preferred
  • Committed to service and accountability

Other Requirements:

  • Valid Working with Children Check
  • Police Check
  • Annual acknowledgement of the Safeguarding Children and Young People Code of Conduct
  • Successful completion of the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne’s Safeguarding Essentials online training (annually)
