The Opportunity:

CAM is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Human Resources Partner (HRP) to join our dynamic HR Team. This unique opportunity will report to the HR Director, CAM, and will partner with the leadership team of the Catholic Diocese of Sandhurst (CDOS). This position is based in Bendigo and includes occasional travel to Melbourne.

This HRP position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by collaborating with clergy, parish staff, and volunteers to deliver strategic HR advice and high-quality services. This dynamic generalist role empowers you to leverage your expertise in legislation, employee relations, and people management processes, supporting the delivery of Parish and Mission services throughout the Sandhurst Diocese.

Main Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Strategic HR Leadership: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the CDOS’ goals and objectives.
  • Employee Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for resolving complex employee relations issues, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring compliance with policies and legal regulations.
  • Recruitment Management: Collaborate with diocesan leaders and parish priests to guide the recruitment, retention, formation, and development of parish employees and volunteers.
  • Performance Management: Guide managers through the performance review process, providing coaching and feedback to improve team effectiveness, and managing performance-related issues.
  • Organisational Development: Support organisational change initiatives, leading efforts to enhance employee engagement.
  • HR Policy Development and Compliance: Develop and implement HR policies and procedures
  • Project Work and Strategic Initiatives: Collaborate with the broader CAM HR team on projects and initiatives to advance organisational goals and drive continuous improvement

About you:

  • You have a degree qualified in HR, ER, or a related field.
  • You bring a wealth of experience from similar roles, where you've demonstrated a deep understanding and expertise in modern human resource management.
  • You excel in analytical thinking and problem-solving, always approaching challenges with a pro-active and solution-oriented mindset.
  • You thrive in a collaborative environment, contributing to a positive and inclusive team culture through open communication and teamwork.
  • You take pride in your integrity, honesty, and confidentiality, and have an awareness and appreciation for Catholic Social Teaching.
  • National Police record and Working with Children Checks (essential)
