We are seeking a positive and energetic person to work within our Proclaim team to coordinate the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne’s (CAM) pilgrimage groups in their participation in World Youth Day 2023 (WYD2023) in Lisbon, Portugal.

About the role
The World Youth Day Coordinator provides specialised expertise in coordinating the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne’s (CAM) pilgrimage groups in their participation in World Youth Day 2023 (WYD2023) in Lisbon, Portugal. Working within the Proclaim team, the WYD Coordinator will organise the implementation of CAM’s involvement in WYD2023 ensuring the goals of the Archdiocese of Melbourne Steering Committee are met. The World Youth Day Coordinator will be reporting to the Director of Mission.
The WYD2023 Coordinator will be involved before, during and after WYD. The general responsibilities of the WYD2023 Coordinator include:
• Develop and coordinate contingency plans for any emergencies that arise on pilgrimage
• Maintain contact between the Proclaim team and other organisation's involved in the event.
• Develop and implement a leadership training program for all pilgrimage group leaders
• Attend WYD2023 with the CAM pilgrimage and provide tour operator services
• Develop and maintain a pilgrim focused service, responsive to need
• Prepare and manage the WYD2023 budget and deliver work in agreed timeframes and budget
• Act as secretary to the WYD2023 Steering Committee
