Stewardship Coordinator

Strathmore & Moonee Ponds Parishes

The Parishes of St Vincent de Paul, Strathmore and St Monica, Moonee Ponds commenced the journey of walking together and working together in March this year. We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Stewardship Coordinator across the two parishes.

The primary purpose of the role will be providing good Stewardship and Management for the two Parishes to ensure financial sustainability into the future. The role is collaborative partnership with other members of the Parish Team (Parish Priest, Assistant Priest, Parish Office Manager), providing support and back up as required in demanding situations and to support Priest by identifying and addressing operational needs. This is an on-going part-time opportunity for 13 hours per week.

Key Requirements for the position

Financial

  • Oversee the counting and banking of collections, including supervising volunteers
  • Actively promote and oversee the Parish Stewardship Program
  • Raising invoices and following up any overdue balances
  • Coordinating and working together with the Parish Accountants and Parish Office Manager
  • Contribute to the strategic plan and present strategies along with reports/budgets for Parish Finance Councils and attending Finance Council meetings as required.
  • Managing the payroll payments and payroll record keeping
  • Overseeing the PACS/PACEM system
  • Any other financial/payroll related task as directed by the Parish Priest and/or Parish Office Manager
  • Other tasks as directed by the Parish Priest and/or Parish Office Manager

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Understanding of Thanksgiving/ Stewardship in a church setting
  • Experience in managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • A confident working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in managing payroll records using the CAM Parish Payroll system
  • Familiarity with the POL, PACS/PACEM
