Marketing Coordinator, St Benedict’s Church


St Benedict’s is a Catholic Parish with a focus on helping people to flourish in Christ. We do this by fostering a vibrant and supportive community life for all ages, a focus on personal conversion, spirit-filled contexts of prayer, robust faith formation, strong investment in leadership development, and a commitment to caring for the poor and marginalised.

The role’s focus involves the development and implementation of a marketing strategy that helps us to achieve our evangelising goals, and incorporates a variety of online platforms including social media, facebook, google, youtube, and website.

This permanent part-time position (one day per week) is based at the Parish Office in Burwood. Terms and conditions are governed by the Archdiocese of Melbourne.

Key Requirements

  • Good understanding of inbound marketing and content strategies
  • Working knowledge of website SEO, Google Business, Facebook Ads
  • Some working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite for design and video
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms and key features
  • Capable of managing a team in content execution areas (videography, design, photography, etc.)
  • Analytical skills/data-driven thinking. Ability to use online analytics tools to identify trends to optimize spend and performance based on insights, and the ability to manage a digital marketing budget
  • High level of integrity, honesty and confidentiality, with an awareness and appreciation of Catholic Social Teaching.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed requiring minimal supervision; teamwork orientation with strong relationship management skills
  • Sound time-management skills and ability to prioritise.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within with a team

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a marketing strategy which utilises our current platforms to extend our reach both online and in our local community.
  • Manage our digital platform software and systems Google Ads, and Social Media Ads
  • Collaborate and coordinate with project managers and social media team to launch digital campaigns for events, conferences, series, and other projects as needed.
  • Monitor analytics and create reports to help the communications team make informed decisions based on the data collected, refine goals, & keep within budget constraints.
  • Test & vet new potential solutions regarding email automation, dynamic ads, and geo-location advertising.
  • Maximize youtube content, videos, sermon messages, and print materials for use as downloadable offers or incentives.
  • Implement web edits and changes, create new pages, regularly review website for improvements and updates, and work with developer and designer as necessary to keep the site updated, user-friendly and following best practices.
  • Creating advertising campaigns via platforms such as google and facebook.
