Jo Care Digital Coordinator

Stonnington Area

Jo Care was established with St Joseph’s Parish in Malvern, in partnership with Cabrini Health, and operates within the Stonnington area. They promote ‘neighbourliness’ and caring for others through the community.

The successful applicant will be passionate about helping others with a friendly and outgoing personality. They will also have the ability to demonstrate patience with others. The applicant will demonstrate a familiarity with the functions Apple and Android devices and posses’ leadership skills.

This casual position is based in the Stonnington area. The role is required to work approximately 8 hours per week with flexible days. The successful applicant will work with the local elderly community and support the JoCare Coordinator where required. Terms and conditions are governed by the Archdiocese of Melbourne.

Key Requirements

  • Knowledge of Android and Apple devices
  • A desire to work with older people to encourage a passion and enthusiasm for digital literacy
  • Ability to design and implement a technology program to increase digital literacy for older persons. Framework support is available.
  • Leadership experience in leading a small team of demonstrators
  • Able to relate to others, patient, good listener, and communicator
  • An understanding and empathy towards those who may lack confidence in understanding technology
  • Understands and shares the vision of Catholic Social Teaching where the dignity of all people is recognised, and those who are vulnerable are cared for

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible to the JoCare Coordinator
  • To lead and coordinate the Digital Program in a caring, gentle, and inclusive manner
  • To be dependable and punctual
  • To take all reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and co-workers and program participants
  • Be familiar with what to do in the case of an accident
  • To report any concerns, accidents, or incidents to the JoCare coordinator as soon as practically possible
  • Be familiar with all legal requirements of working with JoCare, including the provision of a current Police Check and Working with Children’s Check.
